Teaching is an integral part of Emilia Lajunen’s career as musician. She has been teaching traditional fiddle since 1998 for students of all levels, from beginners to professionals, from summer schools to universities. In the folk music department of Sibelius Academy she started as head of violin in 2010, teaching also nyckelharpa.

As a pedagogue Emilia Lajunen specializes in Finnish traditional fiddle styles and the use of old runosong, kantele and jouhikko material in modern violin playing.

Lajunen has also given workshops for example about violin chop technique and duo playing.
